Don't let the size of this little brewery fool you, they actually churn out some incredibly intricate beers. From the Yabadaba, brewed with fruity pebbles, to the Bam Bam brewed with coco pebbles, this Ohio proud brewery will surly have something that will get your mouth watering. Being a hazy fanatic, my favorite beers from homestead include, the Wandering Yheti, and Dead Prospector. Despite being one of the smaller breweries in size, they have a strong presence around Columbus, with many of their crafts being either featured on draft or in bottles. Sun kissed wheat, snake oil, tennpenney, and galactic heroes are some of the most popular beers from Homestead's selection.
The Taproom its self is quaint, with a decent selection of their beers. They always have at least 8 of different beers on draft.
There is a nice sized patio, and huge parking lot that can accommodate food trucks in the summer. They even have corn hole available to play free of charge! With the taproom being so small, they don't have a kitchen which is probably the only knock Homestead Beer Co, but they are able to make up for it with food trucks.
My initial impression on just the beer I would have to give this brewery 4.5/5 stars, but there are other factors that must be considered. What separates homestead from other breweries in Columbus, is that their tap room always features a variety of different beers. The people that aren't huge on IPAs will still find something that they like, which is not the case in every taproom. They do brew a lot of Hazy Ipa's which are my current jam, but on any given day you should be able to find a wheat beer, or a stout that will not disappoint. The fact that it seems like every recipe is deliberate and intentional, balanced yet intricate easily puts Homestead Beer Co. at the top of the list when it comes to Ohio_Local!

The Final Verdict: 4.0/5 Stars
Although Homestead Brewing Co is still growing and consistently churns out some of the highest quality beers in Columbus, the location and size really the only thing that hurts the overall rating. From people in living downtown they are looking at a 30 minute drive out to Heath. The location is pretty far out in the country with not much to do in the area, making it an expensive Uber or far ride just to try some of the brews. I will say that it is defiantly worth making the trip and checking out some of the other breweries that are out East, because the beer quality will not disappoint.
Due to the small size they do not have a kitchen, the only downside to food trucks is that if they are not on lot there is no food available. With the location not being near food these are factors to consider when comparing Homestead Brewing Company to other breweries in the city. This brewery landed a solid 4/5 stars. Food was not considered in the review because several of my trips out to Homestead they have not had a truck on lot, however, every time I have been there they have had something new on draft. With so many craft breweries in the area there is defiantly a pressure to stay innovative and crank out new brews. So many breweries feel this pressure, and end up falling short on the quality of their new beers, this is where Homestead Brewing Co really shines. They are able to consistently churn out extremely intricate and delicious beers that never fall short of expectations! #staycrafted
